Maybe instead of restricting ourselves all the time, we could aim for balance and moderation. Maybe we could indulge in our favorite treats once in a while without beating ourselves up about it. Maybe we could learn to love ourselves just as we are, whether we’re skinny, fat, or somewhere in between. In conclusion, while I’m not exactly advocating for everyone to go out and intentionally gain weight, I do think there’s some value in the messages contained in these two images. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying our favorite foods or embracing our bodies just as they are. If anything, maybe we could all stand to be a little kinder to ourselves and each other. So go ahead, have a slice of cake if you want it. And remember, no matter what your size or shape, you’re beautiful just the way you are.
